DrosDel: An isogenic deficiency kit for Drosophila melanogaster Information News: All DrosDel deletions and FRT insertions are now available from the Drosophila Genetic Resource Center (DGRC) in Kyoto, Japan . Many deletions including the core kit are available now from the Bloomington Stock Center . Note: these RS3 and RS5 FRT-carrying insertions can be used as docking sites for FLP-mediated transgene remobilisation, using the split white+ marker strategy. For review see Venken and Bellen (2007) Development 134:3571-3584. The second DrosDel paper describing the deletion collection has now been published in Genetics 177: 615-629. We also made the front cover! The databases have now been updated to Release 5.1 of the Drosophila genome. A search engine for FRT-derived deletions (FDDs) can be found here . This is a set of over half a million theoretical deficiencies made by combining the information from the DrosDel collection and the Exelixis sequence data available from Harvard, |
